An established dairy industry in the tropics is very unusual, we were told on a tour of the "dairy centre" in Malanda. Quite apart from the cows (or despite them, if you feel that way), this is a beautiful part of the world, with forests and ferns and waterfalls, neat towns and long green views. Almost as good as Tasmania.
