I also found a stick bug on my kitchen counter.it was about 4-5 inches,with 3 leg's & 2 antennas,it was weird looking.northern California(lake county).

I found these two bugs on my porch today. I have no clue what they are and I can't seem to find any pics of them. I have decided to call them Georgia and Phillip until I find out what they are, Any ways, theu are brown and kind of flat to the ground, they almost look like short overweight sick bugs. The first (Georgia) is about four inches long. The 2nd (Phillip) is about an inch and a half long. He is on Georgia's back. I figure they are either mating or that is Georgia's baby, which I doubt since I 've never neard of bug having one baby at a time. Their bodies look almost segmented (small segments at least 5 of them) and end in a kind of pointy butt. They walk pretty slow and seem docile and unaggressive. What could they be?

We accidentally drove a 6" stick bug from Egg Harbor, WI to Algoma, WI today. Poor thing must have been scared to death after it heard our screams. It was probably glad to be scooted out of the car with our new...official...stick-bug-car-pusher-outer...aka our Pringles Chip can.

I saw a stick bug on my porch today. It was awesome! I never saw one alive before, just dead ones in an insect display case. I live in Columbia SC.

Oh I forgot to tell you it is all black. Looks like the letter “ V ‘ upside down with one more leg and has little feet stuck to the house I used a pressures washer with soap and it would do nothing to it. The only way to get it off was to pressure wash the paint off the house. HELP ME PLEASEE

Have you ever seen one like this; It looks like a stick with 3 legs each foot is stuck on the wall outside the house it’s very hard to pull off there are a lot of them and I never seen them move. They don’t have a body just a 3 legged stick. I try to pull one off the house and the legs broke leaving the feet stuck on the wall. I don’t know it’s a bug or a plant. Can you help ThankYou, David

I'm in the Atlanta Ga. area and found a Stick Bug on my kitchen counter this morning. Very cool looking, but not on my kitchen counter. I picked him/her up with a paper towel and outside it went!

Not sure what we have, doesn't look like the regular stick and it is not a preying mantis. It looks like a a cross between a long skinny cricket and a slug with legs. It doesn't move or crawl around and only shows up in the cool weather of fall each year. It shows up in the early morning on the brick walls of the carport and disappears after dark. It has six legs, is slimy and last year saw one that looked like a slug with a worm coming out of it's back. Does any one have any idea what this is? I have lived in central Arkansas all my life and have never seen anything so weird. Thanks to any with an idea.

9/8/11 I saw a stickbug today as well. I also saw 4 legs. It was perched on a Azalea bush in the backyard. We live in Mendota Heights, MN. I am not sure what happens to them when winter comes...it can get to -20 degrees to -30 degrees F here, so I would think the climate is too cold for them in the winter.

Hey! I'm in PA in the Poconos....have seen a lot of stick bugs here since i moved here...big and small.. have a little baby one outside right now..cant believe some people have them as pets! Aren't they endangered? I know they were years ago!

Found a stick insect in the bush on our property has green gum leaf coloured wings, orange body parts, head, legs, abdomen, feelers. 20cm long and when wings touched they were a light purple colour and deliciate. Head looked like a broken tree branch. Just wanted to know the name of it, in case we see more as the one we found three days later on the ground, dead. It stayed on the side of the house in one spot till it fell to the ground.

I live in Alaska and have 4 stick bugs. I feed mine raspberry leaves in summer and fall but during winter I feed them organic romain lettuce. I love stick bugs. They are awesome.

I saw what I thought was a stick on the wall of my porch yesterday and when I examined it closely, I could see two beady eyes. It only has 4 legs instead of 6 and no antenna - after reading about the bugs, perhaps these were lost in the bug's defending himself. He remained on the porch all day and was gone this a.m. Incredible camouflage

I found a stick bug in my patio against the red wood fence ... it has not move for more then 2 hours ... I took a picture and it was not until I download the picture in my computer that I was able to see the insect features by zooming at the image... that is sooo neat. I live in Ventura County CA

my friend and I were sitting on her back porch (we live in pennsylvania) and the stick bug climbed up on my wine glass. Katie shook it off and it walked about five feet back to my chair and up the arm of the chair. We got scared and stood on the other chair together then we couldn't find it anymore... Because, well... They are kind of hard to spy. We decided to go inside for fear of stick bug attack

hi I live on staten island and while I was watering my plants at night I was walking back to the house and looked up and on the screen door was a stickbug at first I thought it was a small piece of a a tree limb or somrthing so I tried to pull it off of the screen as I touched it it moved That made me jump back alittle and take a closer look I had know idea that they lived on or near new york city so I'm going to leave it alone and let it do what it wants to

Heidi My Grandson Ben got a bunch of stick bugs at his brothers pre- school. He and the school have had them for several weeks and feed them blackberry leaves, they really like the thorns. I have fallen in love with them and plan on getting some myself. They are fun to watch and teach others not to be affraid of every unusual thing they see.

There has been a stick bug on my wifes grave for the last three days. It's fun to watch his, her, head follow me as I move around. My wife wouldn't have liked it to be there as she don't like bugs. Don't tell anyone but I talk to it and tell it about my wife and how much I miss her.

We found a preying mantis eating a stick bug today on our garage wall. We took a lot of pictures of the event. The mantis devoured the entire stick bug in about 20 minutes. We have a lot of stick bugs and preying mantis bugs here in PA. in the fall. Oct. 13, 2008

My grandson received 2 stick bugs in kindergarden, now in 3rd grade we have 4 aquariums and about 100 bugs. We learn kindness, patience, gentleness and supporting ways. If a bug has a handicap, the loss of legs or antenea, other bugs will lift and hold it up to a safe position. I have been told they are disease free. People should be more like stick bugs. i love stick bugs i caught one before and lisa to get this bug you can look for them in the late fall or summer on trees or grass or leaves and rhonda you might want to see the spider for a few more days then if it looks like its harming the stickbugs take it out see if it works and i found one at school and it crawled on me and did you know they spray out icky gas but its good they dont bite

i have about 100 bugs right now, what a hatch! I leave a cup of water in the cage and then put alder or salmonberry branches in the water. In the winter i feed them green leaf lettuce. hope that helps

I have 18 stick bugs, feed them fresh blackberry leaves twice a week, mist everyday. I have noticed a little spider that lives w/them. He hops out when I clean the cage and hops back in when I am done. I have noticed him climbing on them in the aquarium. I am one stick bug short in my count and wonder if the spider will harm them.
