On May 11, 2003 about two dozen friends and family, including Mary Lou Kehr, Janet Flick (Augie's daughter), her husband Charlie Flick and their granddaughter McKenzie Flick, met to dedicate the garden. It took the form of a number of remarks from Jim Holmes, Ray Head, Dan Veazey, Bob Stelloh, David Dethero and Janet Flick. The attendees then toured the garden.
