[M. x brooklynensis, M. x soulangeana, M. x veitchii], cv. (Magnolia 27(1) [Issue 51]: 25, 1991). ‘This hybrid produces RHS 56C Neyron Rose flowers late in the season. The plant has an upright habit, is moderately floriferous, and flowers are intensely fragrant. Selected in 1989 by August Kehr, Hendersonville, North Carolina, and registered by him in 1990.’ (M. x brooklynensis cv. Woodsman x M. cv. Tina Durio). [Magnolia Society]
Pure deep pink flowers with no purple tones. Flower form is similar to M. cambellii. Flowers approx. 10"+ wide and are very fragrant. Foliage has wavy margins and matures to 6" wide and 10" long. Growth habit is narrowly upright and formal in appearance. Growth rate is medium. Mature height 30’+. Flowers open very late in the season. This is truly one of the best magnolias ever created!!! Would be an excellent replacement for Bradford pears and would be great as a street tree. [McCracken Nursery]
