The hybrid first bloomed 7 years later. The flowers are 9-10 inches in diameter, have 8-9 tepals of a deep yellow color (deeper than that of ‘Sundance’ or ‘Elizabeth'). Very deep gold flowers of very heavy substance. Very large cupped shaped flowers approx. 10" wide. Foliage has very wavy margins and matures to 6" wide and 10" long. Plant is tetraploid and this trait shows up in all aspects of this tree: Flower size, leave size and substance and in branch thickness. Growth habit is fairly upright. Growth rate is medium to fast.
