Trashigang to Samdrup Jongkhar

Trashigang is a small scruffy, untidy town where we stopped for one night. The main reason was to break the otherwise very long drive from Lingmethang to Narphung la. The town is perhaps appropriately named - the river which runs through the town centre is littered with trash. From Trashigang we headed to a final camping stop at Narphung la via the Kori la which had some excellent temperate broadleaf forest. Narphung la was rather wet and we had a rather unpleasant morning birding walk along a leech invested track. After that it was all downhill - literally. A final lunch stop and birding at Deothang was followed by an amazingly abrupt descent to the low lands of the Indian plain and the border town of Samdrup Jongkhar.
